Reading Apps I LOVE ❤️

I have so many reading apps, but here’s a rundown on my favorites:

- Libby, is done through the library system. You must have a library card to participate if your library (which most do now) has Libby. The amount of holds/borrows you get can vary, and you can add as many library cards as you have (for instance: I have 3 in Maryland, 1 in Florida, 1 in Wyoming) and I’ve never run out of holds 😂

- Audible, I pay $24/m for 2 credits. I spend WAY more when I didn’t have a subscription, so I just use these and then supplement with Libby, plus catalog & hoopla.

- NetGalley, I can request access to unreleased e-books and audiobooks & submit feedback.

- thrift books (isn’t arrowed) I buy a lot of used books on there!

- kindle, for when I do e-books, I use this app. I don’t often, because it gives me a major headache. (Regular kindles do too).

- PangoBooks, for buying preloved/used books. This is like a marketplace for sellers. They list & ship books. Read the description & make sure you understand the condition before buying & you (hopefully) won’t have any problems!

... Read moreIf you're a passionate reader looking to maximize your access to books, these top reading apps can transform your reading experience. Libby is a fantastic app linked to your local library, allowing you to borrow ebooks and audiobooks easily with your library card. One unique advantage is the ability to add multiple library cards from different locations, expanding your borrowing options and almost eliminating wait times for popular titles. Audible remains a favorite for audiobook listeners, with a subscription model that offers credits for monthly book downloads. Combining Audible with free or low-cost services like Libby, Hoopla, and other library catalogs can keep your listening options fresh and affordable. NetGalley is invaluable for avid readers who want early access to unreleased ebooks and audiobooks, giving users the chance to provide feedback and discover upcoming releases before they hit the market. For physical book enthusiasts, ThriftBooks offers a vast selection of used and affordable books shipped to your door. This is an excellent way to build your library economically while supporting sustainability. Similarly, PangoBooks is a marketplace for buying preloved books, with sellers listing and shipping books directly. It’s important to carefully check descriptions and book conditions before purchasing to ensure satisfaction. Kindle is often viewed as the go-to app for ebook reading. However, some users may find it less comfortable to read on due to eye strain or headaches, which is worth noting when choosing your preferred reading platform. Beginners can explore alternatives like StoryGraph to track and discover books or BookFunnel for easy ebook downloads. Altogether, using a combination of these apps can cater to different reading preferences, whether you enjoy digital reading, audiobook listening, or collecting physical books. Each app offers unique features and benefits, helping you create a personalized and rich reading lifestyle while also being budget-friendly and environmentally conscious. This multifaceted approach keeps your reading list fresh, accessible, and enjoyable, regardless of where you are or what device you use.
