Kebab Rolls with Puff Pastry
These delicious kebab rolls are the perfect little bite. A ground beef mixture stuffed into puff pastry then baked until golden. They are perfect for any occasion, snack or add a salad on the side and you’ll have the perfect meal. I served mine with Toom and Ajvar (ajvar is a red pepper and vegetable spread and toom is a garlic dip) you can find toom at Costco and Ajvar at any middle eastern market.
—Ingredients—
1 pound ground beef
1/2 a large onion or a small one
1/2 cup parsley
1 jalapeño
3 cloves garlic
1 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon cumin
2 sheets puff pastry (cut each and half lengthwise)
1 egg
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1. Take the puff pastry out of the freezer and place on the counter to thaw for about 30 minutes before cooking.
2. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
3. Place the ground beef, in a large bowl. Dice chop and minced the onion, parsley, jalapeño and garlic. Add the vegetables to the ground beef.
4. Season the meat with the spices. Toss until well combined. Transfer the mixture into a ziplock bag, cut about a 1/2 inch hole in one of the corners.
5. Lay one sheet of puff pastry on a cutting board and cut in half lengthwise. Do the same for the other. You will end up with four pieces.
6. Pipe the meat mixture lengthwise around ⅔ of the way along each pastry strip, mold the meat into a log shape.
7. Start to roll the pastry around the meat, Keep the pastry nice and tight to the meat. Continue to roll until the meat is totally sealed. Continue until all four strips of puff pastry are filled.
8. Cut each roll into seven equal pieces. Move each roll to a lined baking tray, seam side down. Make sure the rolls have room to expand while baking.
9. Generously egg wash the top and sides of each roll. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
10. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden. Serve with your favorite dips and enjoy.

Okay, so you've made these incredible kebab rolls, and I'm telling you, they're a game-changer! But let me share a few more tips and tricks I've picked up to make them even better or to customize them for any occasion. First off, why puff pastry? Honestly, it's my secret weapon for making these feel gourmet without all the fuss. The way it bakes up golden and flaky around that savory meat filling is just perfection. It gives you that satisfying crunch before you hit the juicy ground beef mixture. If you're ever short on time but want something impressive, puff pastry is your best friend. Now, about the filling! While ground beef is fantastic, don't be afraid to experiment. I've tried this recipe with ground chicken and even ground lamb for a slightly different flavor profile, and both turn out amazing. Just make sure your meat is lean enough or drain any excess fat before rolling. For my vegetarian friends, you could totally do a lentil or mushroom-based 'meat' mixture, seasoned similarly, and it would be just as delicious. Imagine a spicy black bean and corn mix wrapped in that flaky pastry – yum! And spices? The recipe uses a great blend, but feel free to tweak it to your taste. Sometimes I add a pinch of cayenne for extra heat, or a little dried mint if I'm going for a more Middle Eastern vibe. A dash of sumac can also add a lovely tangy note. It's all about making it your own! Serving these little bites is half the fun. While Toom and Ajvar are incredible (seriously, try them if you can find them!), you're not limited to just those. I often whip up a simple yogurt-cucumber dip (tzatziki-style) or a spicy Sriracha mayo. For a complete meal, these rolls are fantastic alongside a fresh green salad with a lemon vinaigrette, some fluffy couscous, or even a light tomato soup. They're so versatile! Thinking ahead? These kebab rolls are fantastic for meal prep or entertaining. I often make a double batch and freeze half before baking. Just arrange them on a baking sheet, freeze until solid, then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. When you're ready to bake, pop them straight from the freezer into a preheated oven, adding an extra 5-10 minutes to the baking time until they're golden and cooked through. They also reheat beautifully in an air fryer or oven, staying crispy. A little trick for that perfect golden crust: don't skimp on the egg wash! A generous brushing ensures a beautiful, shiny, golden-brown finish that makes them look as good as they taste. And make sure your oven is properly preheated to 400°F (200°C); that initial high heat helps the pastry puff up nicely. These rolls are truly one of my go-to recipes when I want something comforting, flavorful, and relatively easy to put together. They disappear so fast whenever I make them, so be warned – you might want to make extra!

Wow !! You make it look easy to make ! Thank you !!!
