He’ll dip and trade you for someone new?
So many girl friends say I should never stick with a guy when he’s got nothing, because the second he makes it, he’ll dip and trade you for someone new. Basically, a ton of ladies swear you shouldn’t build a guy up at all. But I’m curious. So from a guy’s angle, why do so many bail on the women who didn’t care about his status or cash? The ones who just wanted to stand by him and have his back, no strings attached?
I’ve heard people say guys resent these women, if the woman loves him but doesn’t love herself, he pulls away? But that feels surface level. I wanna know the real reason here.
And Have you ever looked back and regretted letting someone like that go? Or left her once you finally had it all, only to wish you hadn’t?

I would say if you are not married to the guy you should not be investing in him if he has nothing. At least married if he becomes successful (rich, fame, whatever) it will come at a significant cost to leave. Most men and women are entitled to half of the assets if they divorce. Also being married helping him grow helps you as well. BUT don’t just marry someone that is not right for you either because that comes at a cost as well. I think men bail because they think the grass is greener on the other side. I’m sure building up a man was hard work, sweat, tears, anger, frustration, etc. all the things that lead to resentment. Then some other woman comes along who is validating his feelings again and telling him you don’t deserve a woman who treats you that way - she makes him feel seen again. He forgets it was you who was there when he had nothing loving him and supporting him. He forgets that you were by his side for all that. So he goes for the other woman thinking he just hit the jackpot only to realize she is also going to make him step up. By then he realizes he made a mistake with you and will try to come back but it will be too late for him. You will have moved on to someone else. He will see you happy and regret it every day for the rest of his life. Karma’s a bitch.
