What should I do to make him confident?
A few nights ago, I hung out with my friends, some from childhood, some college, all around my age. I’ve been dating my partner for 4 months, brought him to meet the group a few times. He has a visible physical disability but it never matters to us. He’s super confident in who he is.
Out of nowhere, they started prying: asking if we’d done specific sexual stuff and pressing for details. I shut it down, I was so uncomfortable. Then they crossed a line making sexual jokes about his disability. I scolded them and the room went silent.
Context: I’m the only one in the group with relationship experience, they’ve never dated. I guess they thought it was middle school locker room garbage but I was disgusted. My partner and I are both on the spectrum so we’re totally honest with each other. I told him what happened and now he’s upset. I’m anxious this could break us and rethinking these friendships. They’ve always had red flags, but this is too much. So what should I do?
