Wedding Reception Timeline

Especially useful for wedding couples who don’t hire wedding planners ❤️

... Read morePlanning a wedding reception without a planner can be challenging, but having a comprehensive timeline makes the process much smoother. After guests arrive and register, it’s important to start mingling and taking photos early to set a lively atmosphere. If your wedding day includes a Religious or Registry of Marriage ceremony (ROM), complete it before the banquet to keep the flow natural and stress-free. The role of the emcee is crucial—they gather everyone’s attention with opening remarks and kick off the first march-in. This moment often features a video prepared by the couple, which helps engage guests emotionally. Following the opening, cake cutting marks a sweet milestone that officially signals the dinner commencement. Incorporating games or live entertainment keeps guests entertained while softening any potential downtime. A traditional second march-in often features champagne popping and the couple’s nuptial toast, which is a lovely way to celebrate the newlyweds and toast to their future. One of the most lively parts is the "Yum Seng," where families and friends are invited on stage for three toasts, creating a heartfelt, high-spirited bonding moment. Finally, thank you speeches are essential to express gratitude to parents, relatives, friends, and colleagues for their support and attendance. This timeline not only helps in logistics but also preserves the emotional significance of each event, making the wedding reception memorable and enjoyable for everyone involved.

Wondering why some brides start getting ready at 3am? Here’s why...
One of the biggest misconceptions we hear is that a lunch wedding is much more relaxed, so there's less to photograph or film or that you don't really need a videographer. In reality, most of the action happens before your banquet even begins. Now, imagine going through all of that befo
