Daily movement is one of my non-negotiables, and while it’s sometimes questioned, it always makes me reflect on the importance of having boundaries.
Setting boundaries can feel tricky… if we let them be. But what if it didn’t have to be?
Next time you’re faced with a decision, take a moment to acknowledge the situation and check in with yourself to observe how you feel.
If there’s even a chance that you’ll feel drained, let down, or upset, that’s your sign. It’s a NO.
Putting yourself first isn’t selfish. It allows you to show up even better for the people you love. But sometimes, setting boundaries can bring up guilt or uncertainty, making you question if you’re doing the right thing. That’s normal.
Here’s a simple way to check in with yourself:
🩷 Will this pull me away from my goals or slow down the progress I’ve been working toward?
🩷 Will it disrupt the routines you have in place for your health and well-being?
🩷 Will this leave me feeling frustrated, resentful, or emotionally drained afterward?
If you answer yes to any of these, it’s time to set the boundary.
