my goals for my senior year of college!

i know if you write down your goals you are more likely to meet them so here is me holding myself accountable!

for planning i use two physical planners and one digital planner, i think it is effective for me because i am very quick to forget things but if i write them down in class physically and then when i get back to my apartment i add them to my digital planner it makes it impossible to forget.

my planners:

- papier academic year planner "joy" in pink

- papier weekly desk planner "joy" in pink

for both of these i customized the colors to make them more me! i have been using papier for two years now and i haven't found any other planner that works better for me. plus they are super affordable! i also have their "Find the Balance Academic Stickers" because they were just so cute i couldn't pass them up.

i use notion as my digital planner, i use it on my laptop because i don't have an iPad otherwise i am sure there are many other options but i like notion and you can get the pro version for free when you sign-up or link it to your student email address.

MY GOALS:

1.) Spend at least 8 hours a week studying.

i have a tendency to fall behind on studying because of procrastination and just genuinely being very busy. i am double-majoring in two sciences and i am a D1 student athlete and i like my social life and me time. this year i just really need to hold my self accountable and buckle in with my studying because my classes are hard af

2.) Pass all exams with at least a B+

okay okay i know this is like a bare minimum but as i said, my classes are freaking hard, man. i accept the fact that i am not always going to get an A because with my luck my microbiology, biochemistry, and physical chemistry exams will all fall on the same week. but i would like to get as close to that A as i can :)

3.) turn in all work. do not be discouraged by late submission.

... this one i have no excuse for... all through high school, and college pretty much up until last semester, i thought that turning in work late was the worst thing in the world and instead of doing that and taking like the 10% off or whatever i would literally just take the 0. why? who knows. my gpa now really wishes i didn't (crying).

4.) produce the highest quality work that i know i am capable of.

i know that i can be super productive and i have been told by many of my professors that i write very well and my assignments that i turn in are really good, but sometimes i slack off and my work could use improvement. i just want to be proud of everything that i submit.

5.) do not be afraid to ask for help.

this is a big one for me. i have always hated admitting that i need extra help or that i don't quite understand something. i want to use this year to go to office hours and form study groups because i have all my classes with the same 6 people.

!!only the first picture and stickers are mine (with the exception of the notion logo) the other images in the slides are from pinterest!!

... Read moreAs a senior in college, writing down goals can significantly improve accountability and focus. Setting specific targets, such as devoting at least 8 hours to study each week, is crucial for effective time management, especially in demanding fields like science where courses can be rigorous. Utilizing tools like physical planners and digital applications, such as Notion, helps students keep track of commitments and assignments, reducing the chance of procrastination. Additionally, it's essential to prioritize understanding and improving your work. Aiming for at least a B+ on exams can motivate you to strive for excellence, even when faced with challenging coursework. Regularly turning in assignments, regardless of timing, can also prevent unnecessary stress related to grades. Moreover, engaging in office hours and forming study groups can create a supportive academic environment, allowing you to clarify doubts and enhance your understanding of the material. Developing these strategies can lead to a more fulfilling and productive senior year, aiding not just in academics, but also in personal growth as you transition into post-college life.
