DROP THAT COLLEGE ADVICE ⬇️📓✂️

Calling all college students! Whether you’ve graduated or are going into your sophomore, junior, or senior year, we want to know what advice you would give to incoming freshmen! 🤓

Starting college is both exciting and nerve-wracking, so help the Lemon8 education community out and share your advice 🔥

My biggest piece of advice is to not overextend yourself! It can be easy to join a bunch of clubs, take too many classes, and try to do everything all at once, but your sanity is important and it is always okay to say no 🫶

Joining clubs and making new friends is important, but it's crucial to prioritize mental health by setting limits. Time management skills are vital; create a realistic schedule that allows you to balance coursework and social activities. An effective tip is to establish a routine early on—this helps in developing good habits, such as consistent study times and proper sleep. Remember to take breaks to avoid burnout, and don’t hesitate to seek help from professors, advisors, or fellow students. Utilize campus resources, including counseling services and academic tutoring, to enhance your college experience. Networking with peers and faculty can open doors for internships and job opportunities later on. Engage in discussions, attend workshops, and participate in campus events to broaden your horizons. Finally, enjoy the adventure of college! Whether it's exploring new subjects, meeting diverse people, or finding your passion, embrace the journey.

Use the 1x2 rules, for every time you talk about yourself ask the other person two questions about them For the oversharers/adhd (especially in big groups) this really helped me!! (Helped with recruitment!) people love talking about themselves but also like want approval! Keep showing up to new spaces, it gets easier!
