The funny thing about being a mom of boys is that most of us have never known anything different
To us, it’s normal to find rocks in the washing machine.
To hear “Watch this!” and immediately brace for impact.
To have wrestling matches break out in the middle of the living room... esp before bed.
To say things we’d never imagined would come out of our mouths.
”Please don’t lick your brother”
“Please get your hand out of your pants”
“No mommy still doesn’t have a doinkie”
“Please stop climbing on that”
It’s loud, messy, chaotic, and yes oftentimes exhausting.
But it’s also the sweetest kind of love I’ve ever known 🥹
I know every parent has their own version of chaos. This one just happens to be ours.
And EVERY MOM is hanging on for the ride of motherhood, all ups & downs included

Being a boy mom truly means living in a whirlwind of activity, unpredictability, and unconditional love. From my own experience, the days are filled with constant movement—whether it’s darting around to mediate a wrestling match or hauling laundry that mysteriously contains rocks and dirt. What struck me most was how boy moms develop a sixth sense for interpreting different cries—knowing instantly when a hurt cry is genuine or just a minor protest. It's fascinating how no amount of preparation really gets you ready for the unique vocabulary and scenarios that come with raising boys. Phrases like “No mommy still doesn’t have a doinkie” become part of everyday life, and you quickly learn that shouting is sometimes the only way to be heard over the joyful chaos. The grocery list mainly consists of fruit, yet somehow the house is always running low on snacks. Quiet time is almost non-existent—unless the boys are all asleep—and installing a 'no climbing' rule feels like a constant uphill battle. Yet, amid all this noise and mess, the affection shared is deeply meaningful. These moments of loud laughter, high-energy play, and even the annoying chaos are moments I cherish. I’ve found that boy moms are not just managing their household but embracing a lifestyle that’s energetic, demanding, and incredibly rewarding. Surviving and thriving as a boy mom means building resilience and humor. It’s about sharing those unfiltered, real mom moments that others may find unrecognizable yet completely relatable. To every mom out there in the thick of it—whether you have one boy, multiple boys, or a mix—know that this unique kind of motherhood is truly special. After all, as a boy mom, you become an expert at turning every wild moment into a cherished memory.
