It’s natural to feel frustrated or tired, but pairing these feelings with positive acknowledgment, like being alive or having the ability to provide for myself, helps me build resilience. One simple exercise I do is writing down what I’m grateful for, especially when complaining about something. This balances the negative with a fresh perspective and reduces feelings of helplessness. Over time, this practice has allowed me to embrace more grace—not only toward others but also myself. I’ve noticed that recognizing the good alongside the bad doesn’t diminish my struggles; instead, it empowers me to face them with a stronger, more hopeful outlook. This mindset shift is not about ignoring reality but about choosing to focus on the strengths and blessings within it. Whether it’s dealing with the heat outside or the burden of medication, acknowledging what we have instead of solely what we lack makes a tremendous difference. Ultimately, balancing honesty about challenges with gratitude fosters a more positive frame of mind and a gentler way of living with ourselves and the world around us.
