Grounding Techniques To Help With Anxiety
If you struggle with anxiety, or managing your emotions when they’re heightened, try this grounding technique!
Ask yourself:
👀 What are 5 things I can see?
✋ What are 4 things I can touch?
👂 What are 3 things I can hear?
👃 What are 2 things I can smell?
👅 What is 1 thing I can taste?
When you use the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique, you bring your body back to the here and now. Often times, anxiety can disconnect us from what is going on and we find ourselves a million miles away with our thoughts. Take a minute to ground yourself with your senses and remind yourself you’re in control!
