✨ Things Your Therapist Wants You to Know

If you’ve ever been told you’re “too sensitive,” “too emotional,” or “too much,” there’s a good chance you started believing your feelings were the problem.

But many women aren’t “too much.”

They simply learned to make themselves smaller to avoid rejection, criticism, or conflict.

Healing isn’t about taking up less space.

It’s about finally believing you’re allowed to take up space at all.

💛 Which slide resonated with you?

... Read moreIt took me a long time to realize that being told I was "too sensitive" wasn’t a criticism but a misunderstanding of what sensitivity really means. From personal experience, I found that what some label as "too much" often stems from past experiences where expressing emotions led to rejection or criticism. These feelings are not flaws but human responses shaped by our attachment styles and sometimes trauma. Through therapy and self-reflection, I learned the importance of making space for my emotions instead of shrinking to fit others’ expectations. This process isn't about becoming less emotional or quieter—it’s about believing that my feelings and presence are valid and necessary. If you’ve ever been told you’re "too much," remember that these aren’t personality flaws. They are signs of a deeply feeling person who has a right to express themselves fully. Embracing this mindset helped me combat anxiety and build stronger self-worth. Healing journeys are deeply personal, but one of the most empowering steps is accepting that you don’t need to make yourself smaller to be accepted or loved. Taking up space means speaking your truth, setting boundaries, and prioritizing your mental health. It's okay to seek help from therapists who understand trauma healing and attachment styles because they provide guidance tailored to your unique experience. Remember, your emotions matter, your voice matters, and you are enough just as you are.

Things that actually help with AuDHD burnout (from an AuDHD therapist)
AuDHD burnout isn’t just being tired. It’s a full-system depletion that affects energy, emotions, sensory tolerance, and executive functioning all at once. And for many women, it builds slowly over months of pushing through, masking, and managing more than your nervous system was designed to hold.
