🤎 Signs you’re healing (even when it doesn’t feel like it)

Healing anxious attachment isn’t about becoming someone who never needs reassurance, feels anxious, or struggles with boundaries.

Sometimes it looks like recognizing an old pattern and making a different choice.

Sometimes it looks like allowing yourself to miss someone without returning to a relationship that wasn’t meeting your needs.

And sometimes it simply means being kinder to yourself on the difficult days.

✨ Progress doesn’t always feel like confidence. Sometimes it feels uncomfortable because you’re doing something unfamiliar.

Save this reminder for later. 🤎

... Read moreHealing from anxious attachment is often a subtle and ongoing process that doesn’t always show up as clear-cut victories or sudden confidence. In my own experience, some of the most important signs of healing were small but profound shifts — like the ability to pause before reacting emotionally, which challenges years of automatic patterns. One particularly powerful insight was learning that setting boundaries could bring up guilt and discomfort, but that feeling anxious despite stopping reassurance-seeking didn’t mean failure. It was simply part of navigating unfamiliar territory and learning to trust my own judgment. Missing someone who wasn’t right for me was another complex feeling I had to accept. Through personal reflection, I realized that feeling that absence didn’t necessitate returning to the relationship; instead, it was a signal of growth and recognition of my own needs. These experiences align with what many working through anxious attachment notice: healing isn’t linear. There are days filled with hope and progress, and others with setbacks or doubts. Being kinder to myself on difficult days made a huge difference — reminding me that discomfort is sometimes a sign of doing something new and healthier. Putting these pieces together, I’ve found that choosing peace over familiar, painful cycles is one of the deepest forms of self-care. It’s about trusting in your ability to steer your relationship with yourself and others toward what truly serves your well-being and growth.
