I’m Not Asking For Help

My bed is so huge, and my room is so small. The available floor space is approximately 3.5 ft x 6.5 ft. Normally, I keep this under control; but, life has thrown a few lemons recently and it forgot to also throw vodka. I’m cleaning this now (actually I’m sitting on the floor swiping words onto a screen, but I plan to clean it as soon as I’m done prioritizing this post.)

As I sit in my chaos and filth, I thought I’d just remind you that we’re all figuring this out together. No one is as “put together” as you think they are. I do my hair and makeup almost daily, my clothes are clean and sometimes I even look like about ten bucks, but on the inside… there are days I look just like this floor.

Give yourself grace.

Give others grace.

We’re all in the same sh!tshow.

Clean up your sh!t, and then go help someone clean up some of theirs. And if you find the vodka, make sure you throw it this way! #messylife #shitshow #advice

... Read moreLife can sometimes feel overwhelming, leaving us in a cluttered and chaotic state both mentally and physically. It's essential to acknowledge that everyone has moments of disarray, and you're not alone in this journey. Embracing the ups and downs of life can lead to personal growth and deeper connections with others. When we look at social media and the curated lives of those around us, it’s easy to feel inadequate. However, real life is often messy, and recognizing this can foster a sense of community and support. Instead of striving for perfection, let's aim for authenticity. This includes celebrating the small wins and showing compassion towards ourselves during tough times. In the spirit of community, extending a helping hand to others can create an uplifting environment where everyone feels supported. The simple act of sharing your journey, whether it’s through a blog post or social media, encourages others to open up about their struggles too. Remember, vulnerability can be a strength, and it may inspire others to share their stories. Also, it’s essential to take care of your mental health during chaotic times. Engaging in self-care activities, even if it’s just a few minutes a day, can help center your thoughts and bring clarity. It doesn't have to be extravagant; sometimes, pausing to breathe deeply or tidying up a small space can bring a sense of accomplishment. Ultimately, the message is clear: Give yourself grace, allow others the same, and embrace the beautifully messy aspects of life. We are all on this journey together, navigating through life’s challenges while seeking joy and connection.

Things that actually help with AuDHD burnout (from an AuDHD therapist)
AuDHD burnout isn’t just being tired. It’s a full-system depletion that affects energy, emotions, sensory tolerance, and executive functioning all at once. And for many women, it builds slowly over months of pushing through, masking, and managing more than your nervous system was designed to hold.
