Coffee, Jesus, and Prayer
Please join me in prayer for one of my childhood best friends.
"Coffee and Jesus Time" – it's more than just a catchy phrase; for me, it's a sacred ritual, especially when life throws unexpected challenges our way. Just recently, as I sat with my warm mug, I was reminded of my childhood best friend, who, ten years ago today, experienced the greatest loss no parent should ever have to feel. The thought of a parent having to lose a child, especially to bullying, breaks my heart, and it moved me to lift up my friend in prayer. This personal "coffee and prayer" moment became a powerful way to seek comfort and healing not just for her, but for myself as I processed her enduring strength. Many of you might wonder how to cultivate your own meaningful "coffee and Jesus time" or "coffee and a prayer" routine, especially when you're seeking to meditate with God or meditate on God's word. It’s actually quite simple to create a space for reflection and spiritual nourishment. First, find a quiet spot where you won't be disturbed. Grab your favorite coffee (or tea!), your Bible, and maybe a journal. Start by simply acknowledging God's presence. You don't need fancy words; just an open heart. When I pray for my friend, I don't just ask; I try to truly listen and trust that God will surround her with His love and cover her with His peace. It’s a powerful practice. To meditate on God's word, I often pick a relevant bible verse. For instance, when thinking about my friend being broken hearted, Psalm 34:18 (The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit) comes to mind. Read it slowly, reflect on what it means to you and your situation, and how it applies to those you're praying for. Let it sink in. This daily practice helps me feel like one of the "strongest women" I know, not because I'm fearless, but because I know where my strength comes from. It reminds me that even in moments of profound sadness or when tragedy struck, we are not alone. Our prayers, whether whispered or shouted, are heard. This "coffee time with Jesus" isn't just about my personal relationship; it's about being spiritually equipped to extend comfort and healing to others, just as I pray for my dear friend. Sometimes, if I'm looking for extra inspiration, I'll seek out "coffee and prayer quotes" online or through devotionals. These can be wonderful prompts to deepen your meditation or guide your prayers. While "how to draw a person praying" might seem like a simple query, it speaks to the desire to visualize and connect. Similarly, "coffee and prayer worship" can be a broader concept – it doesn't always mean a group session. It can be a personal, worshipful moment dedicated to connecting with God over a cup of coffee. Ultimately, this sacred time is about anchoring your day in faith, finding peace, and being a beacon of hope and prayer for yourself and your loved ones.
