... Read moreFinding that perfect mascara can feel like a never-ending quest, right? I know I’ve been through countless tubes myself, always searching for that magical formula that delivers volume, length, and doesn’t smudge by midday. Lately, I've had the incredible opportunity to try out some fantastic options, and I'm excited to dive deeper into a few that have truly impressed me.
Let’s talk about the Merit Clean Lash Mascara first, since I know many of you are curious about it. What immediately drew me in was the 'clean' aspect, which is becoming increasingly important to me. This mascara promises a tubing formula that’s gentle on lashes and easy to remove, and it truly delivers. The black bristled wand is perfectly designed to coat every single lash without clumping, giving a really natural yet enhanced look. For someone like me who values a more understated, defined lash for everyday wear, this has been a game-changer. It doesn't flake, and I've noticed my lashes feel soft, not brittle, even after a long day. It’s definitely earned high marks in my book for its comfortable wear and effortless removal.
Then there’s the YSL Lash Clash Mascara, which has quickly become my absolute favorite, particularly the brown shade! Initially, I was a bit skeptical, but after seeing the results, I'm fully converted. This mascara is all about dramatic volume and a bold, intense look. The oversized black bristled wand grabs every lash, lifting and coating them to create a really impactful flutter. What surprised me most was how much I adored the brown version; it adds a softer intensity than black but still makes my eyes pop, especially on days when I'm going for a more subtle makeup look. It’s definitely a splurge, but for the wow-factor it delivers, I think it’s worth every penny. If you're after serious lash power, give this one a try!
I also got to experience the cult classic Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and the newer Ogee Beyond Clean Mascara. The Too Faced mascara, with its iconic hourglass-shaped brown bristled wand, consistently delivers impressive volume and length, living up to its reputation. It's a fantastic option when I want really bold, dramatic lashes for an evening out. As for the Ogee Beyond Clean, packaged in a sleek white tube, it offers another 'clean beauty' approach. Its performance is similar to Merit in terms of being gentle and defining, making it another solid choice for those seeking a more natural, healthy lash look. I'd give both of these solid star ratings for their specific strengths.
When I’m trying out new mascaras, I always look for a few key things: how well it holds a curl, if it smudges under my eyes (a big no-no for me!), and how easy it is to remove without tugging at my delicate lashes. Each of these mascaras offers something unique, whether it's the clean formula of Merit and Ogee, or the intense volume of YSL and Too Faced. I’ve learned that sometimes a brown mascara can be incredibly flattering, and that even the wand shape—like the different bristled wands I’ve mentioned—can make a huge difference in application and the final look. Experimenting has been so much fun, and I hope my personal experiences help you on your own mascara journey!
I’m in love with the typology mascara, it has pea peptides and castor oil in it to help the lashes grow. It’s amazing
