Healing looks a little like this 💛

A lot of listening.

A lot of feelings.

A lot of notes.

And always… coffee ☕

Proud of the work I do and the humans I get to walk alongside.

Gentle growth > perfection.

Progress > pressure.

... Read moreTherapy is often a deeply personal and transformative experience. From my own journey, I've found that healing is not a linear path but a series of small steps—many of which involve simply feeling and being heard. Just like the image from "Autumns Therapy Corner," having tools such as feelings charts and therapy notes can make a significant difference in tracking progress and understanding emotions more clearly. In my experience, incorporating mindfulness and self-care practices alongside therapy sessions helps sustain growth between visits. For instance, using a feelings chart daily can help you identify patterns and triggers which then become useful conversation points with your therapist. It’s amazing how little observations can lead to big breakthroughs. An important lesson I learned is to embrace the process without pressure. Progress might be slow and sometimes challenging, but gentle growth allows for sustainable change. There was always a cup of coffee waiting after sessions—a small ritual that offered comfort and grounded me in the present moment. This simple act symbolized taking time to pause and reflect, which is crucial in mental health work. If you’re starting therapy or walking alongside someone who is, remember that your therapist’s role includes holding space for your feelings, taking detailed notes to track your journey, and guiding you gently rather than rushing toward perfection. Healing is about kindness to yourself and acknowledging every step forward. This mindset shift made therapy more approachable and less intimidating for me. Ultimately, successful therapy is a partnership where both the client’s vulnerability and the therapist’s expertise come together. Embracing tools like trauma healing exercises, mindfulness techniques, and self-care enhances that partnership and supports lasting mental health improvements. For anyone on this path, know that progress matters far more than perfection, and every small moment counts on the healing journey.
