Apps that’ve made me💰as a broke college student!

1. Megafone - This is one for all of my content creator girlies out there! Basically, you download the app and they give you a bunch of social media prompts to follow that are given out by brands! All you have to do is pick out the one you like and complete it for some extra cash!! Once you’ve completed the brand deal, they venmo you within 24-48 hours of posting!

Cons:

- Can only complete one prompt per week

- Must have 1,000 followers on Instagram to be eligible

2. Cashwalk - This app kind of looks sketchy at first but it works! All you have to do is connect the app to your fitness app on your iPhone and it tracks your steps like a pedometer! Every 100 steps = 1 coin earned. After you’ve made 2,000 coins, you can use them on gift cards (like Amazon, Ulta, Starbucks, etc.)

Cons:

- Not “real” money, only gift cards

- You need 500 coins before you can start earning rewards

3. Survey on the Go - My friend showed me this app and it has easily become one of my favorites for earning a little extra cash! All you have to do is complete some surveys and you’re all set! You can transfer the money that you make by taking the survey’s onto your Venmo, Paypal, Starbucks or Amazon account :)

Cons:

- Time consuming for little payouts

- You have to wait ‘til “payday” before you can transfer the money to your bank account

Let me know if you guys have any questions or any other money making apps that I should check out!

... Read moreBeing a college student often means living on a tight budget, and finding ways to earn extra cash that fit into a busy schedule is a game-changer. My personal journey with these apps has shown me that a little effort can go a long way in making student life a bit easier! Let's dive a little deeper into how I maximize earnings with Cashwalk and Surveys on the Go, and some general hacks I've picked up along the way for finding reliable money-making apps. Cashwalk: Maximizing Your Steps for Rewards When I saw Cashwalk listed in the app store with its distinctive shoe icon and solid 4.6-star rating in the health & fitness category, I was intrigued. It truly is a passive earner once you set it up. My biggest tip for Cashwalk is to *remember to open the app daily*! Your steps for the day convert to coins only when you open the app before midnight. If you forget, those steps are lost, and trust me, I've made that mistake a few times! I usually open it first thing in the morning or right before bed. While it’s not 'real' money, those gift cards are incredibly useful. I've redeemed for Amazon, Ulta, and Starbucks – essentials for any student! Think of it as rewarding yourself for staying active. It’s a great motivator to take the stairs or walk that extra block. Surveys on the Go: Smart Strategies for Earning Surveys on the Go, easily recognizable by its dollar sign icon in the app store’s lifestyle category, can be a bit more hands-on. My top advice here is quality over quantity, and patience. Firstly, spend a moment accurately filling out your profile. This helps the app send you surveys you're more likely to qualify for, saving you time. Secondly, don't get discouraged if you're screened out of a survey – it happens! Just move on to the next. I find doing surveys during downtime, like waiting for class to start or on public transport, is most efficient. The payouts vary, but consistently completing even the smaller ones adds up. And yes, waiting for 'payday' can feel slow, but knowing you can cash out directly to Venmo or PayPal for actual money makes it a consistent choice for my budget. General Tips for Student Money Apps & Finding More Gems Beyond these, I've learned that combining apps is key. No single app will replace a part-time job, but using a few together creates a decent supplemental income stream. Always look for apps with good reviews and transparent earning methods, like Megafone (with its 4.4-star rating in the shopping category) which clearly outlines brand deals. When considering any new app for earning, always check the app download page thoroughly. Read recent user reviews, especially about payout reliability and customer service. Be wary of apps promising unrealistic earnings. Also, think about privacy: understand what data these apps collect and how it's used. For Megafone, if you're looking to hit that 1,000 follower mark for eligibility, focus on creating genuine content in a niche you're passionate about – consistency and audience engagement are more important than quick growth. These little hacks have truly helped me navigate college life without constantly stressing about money!
