Pero el hubiera no existe 🫶🏼

Living with a chronic illness or autoimmune condition often means adjusting to a life filled with uncertainties and limitations. Yet, it also teaches us to deeply appreciate the moments when we feel good without the constant worry of symptoms or medication. I’ve found that the ability to wake up with unexpected energy—like at 10 pm—and to enjoy spontaneous outings without overthinking backup plans becomes a precious gift. One personal experience I can share is the simple joy of going out for coffee with friends without carrying extra meds “just in case.” Those carefree moments, laughter until tears, and reconnecting with the version of myself that existed before my diagnosis are invaluable. They remind me of my strength and help me build hope despite the chronic nature of my condition. Managing chronic illness also means redefining what normal means. The unpredictability forces creativity in daily planning, but it also highlights the importance of emotional support and self-compassion. I’ve learned to embrace the concept that “pero el hubiera no existe” (there is no if only); it’s a reminder to focus on the present and the positive experiences I can still have. Overall, living with chronic illness has deepened my appreciation for small joys and strengthened my resolve. Sharing these moments can help others feel less alone and inspire them to find their own reasons to smile, even on tough days.
