... Read moreWhen I first read Romans 12:10, 'Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another,' it really struck a chord with me. It’s more than just being nice; it’s about a deep, genuine love for our fellow human beings, treating them like family. I've found that living this verse out daily can be challenging, but incredibly rewarding.
For me, 'kindly affectionate' means being present, listening without judgment, and offering a helping hand even when it's inconvenient. It's about remembering that everyone is fighting their own battles. Sometimes, I catch myself getting frustrated over small things, but then I remember this verse, and it helps me pause and choose compassion instead. It's a journey, not a destination, right?
The part about 'giving preference to one another' is particularly powerful. It means putting someone else’s needs or desires before your own, not out of obligation, but out of love. I've seen this play out in my own life when unexpected things happen. Just like when my TikTok was gone for a bit, it felt like my plans were wrecked. But then I remembered that sometimes GOD WRECKS YOUR PLANS WHEN HE SEES YOUR PLANS ARE ABOUT TO WRECK YOU. It’s a powerful reminder that GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE'S DOING, even when we don't.
This verse encourages us to humble ourselves and uplift others. Instead of seeking recognition, we should be the first to honor others, to celebrate their successes, and to support them in their struggles. It's not always easy, especially in a world that often encourages self-promotion. But when I focus on others, I feel a deeper sense of purpose and connection.
I've also come to realize that my ability to live out this verse, and to share God's word, isn't about my own strength. It's about God's grace. In moments of doubt or when things don't go as planned, like when I felt disconnected from my usual way of sharing, I cling to the truth that GOD'S GRACE IS MORE POWERFUL THAN OUR SINS. It reminds me that even my mistakes or setbacks can be used for good.
Ultimately, this verse is an invitation to live a life filled with love, humility, and service. It shows us that when we put our love into action, and trust in His path, IF YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THERE, GOD WILL GET YOU THERE. And truly, GOD CAN ONLY MULTIPLY WHAT YOU PUT IN HIS HANDS. So, by putting our brotherly love and honor into His hands, imagine the impact we can have. It inspires me to keep spreading His message, no matter the platform or the challenge. Stay blessed, everyone! 🙏🏽
