Not-quite-full bookshelves 🎀
I ended up with some larger bookshelves when I moved last year, and slowly but surely they will fill. It is tempting to stuff them with books, but I’m in no rush. Life is for living and bookshelves are for filling throughout!
Bookshelves are not just for storage; they are a reflection of your personality and interests. When curating your collection, consider the stories and experiences each book brings into your life. Begin by choosing a few beloved titles that resonate with you, such as works from acclaimed authors like bell hooks, Matthew Perry, and Angela Davis, who offer profound insights into society and culture. Mix genres to create a dynamic look; combine fiction with non-fiction, and blend classic literature with contemporary works. Don't forget to include aesthetically pleasing elements such as decorative boxes, photo frames, or plants to enhance the overall appearance of your bookshelves. Additionally, consider the organization method that suits you best — whether that's by genre, author, or even color. Remember that the journey of filling your bookshelves can be just as enjoyable as the end result, allowing you to discover new passions and interests along the way. Embrace your unique style and let your bookshelves tell your story.
