Donate platelets at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center.
Today, let's share a great experience of going to the Thai Red Cross for "donation of platelets." 🏥 Many people may have donated normal blood, but I can say that donating platelets is special and has helped patients who need platelets urgently!
🤔 different?
Donating platelets will take longer (about 60-90 minutes) because the machine will draw our blood to separate only the yellow-gold "platelets" and return the red blood cells back into our bodies. The needle is a little bigger, but very comfortable! 💪
📝 Simple steps:
1️⃣ blood draw, check readiness (blood result, I passed through! A + grade, ready to wade.)
2️⃣ Fill in the history, measure the pressure, meet the doctor.
3️⃣ Go to bed, have a soft blanket ready.
4️⃣ Sleep and squeeze the rubber balls for a second and it's done!
Anyone who is healthy (like me, 181 tall, 80 kg fit! 🏃♂️) would like to invite us to make a big merit. One bag of our platelets can breathe for the patient for many more lives. 🥰
Importantly, healthy people, we can donate platelets 1 time a month, but if it is red blood donation, it is prescribed 3 times a month.
