💭I really enjoyed this book. The humor, spice, emotions? All of it! I love also that the FMC and MMC are both athletes. We don’t see that in sport romances often. We only see MMC athletes in sport romances. Not in AK Landow’s sports romance series. She gives us our FMC as the athlete (and often the MMC too). This one is a basketball/football romance. A night in Vegas that leads to a full blown romance with banter, angst, spicy tension, with sports vibes? Yes please! This book, like her others, isn’t just going to be a wham-bam thank you, ma’am sports romance. You know that the characters are going to have hang-ups and past traumas making them complex. As well as the fact that the book (all the sports romances she writes do) has very team/friendship vibes. So we get to know the teammates (maybe even future MCs 🤭). This also adds layers and depth into the story. I also love how the book is angsty, but not like teenage angst. It’s adult angst. Things we all have thought or felt at some point. Making the book more relatable (which makes sinking into the story easier IMO). The book is spicy, and the spice has a humorous undertone most of the time. Well, the whole book has a humorous undertone TBH (except for the super emotional/serious parts). Overall, a super fun read. Another great sport romance written by this author.
