5 ⭐️s! I did not want to put this book down! This book deals with classism, colorism, father-daughter dynamics, finding yourself & learning the power of distruction & finding your own voice! While the Island of Jamaica is preparing for what seems to be its worst hurricane yet, Tilla is simultaneously going through her own life events that are leading up to her own hurricane & life lessons.
I love that the author put a mini word bank in the front of the book to refer back to for the Patois spoken in the book as well. I feel like I was watching a movie the entire time & the ending was soooooo sad but happy at the same time 🥲
