It’s a beautiful sentiment to say, "seek God in all that you do," but putting it into practice daily can feel like a real challenge, right? I know for me, there were times when life felt like a whirlwind, and God, despite being so important, sometimes got pushed to the sidelines. That’s why I want to share my personal journey of how I’ve learned to genuinely always keep God first. For a long time, I chased after worldly success and instant gratification, thinking if I just worked harder or acquired more, I’d find contentment. But truthfully, it often left me feeling empty and anxious. It wasn't until I truly committed to prioritizing my faith that things started to shift. I realized that keeping God first isn't just about going to church on Sundays; it's about integrating Him into every single moment, big or small. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that with faith comes patience. In our fast-paced world, we expect immediate results. If we pray for something, we want it yesterday! But God's timing is rarely ours. I've had to actively work on developing a patient heart, trusting that His plan is perfect, even when I don't understand it. This means accepting that everything is not instantly gratified, and sometimes the wait is part of the blessing, teaching us resilience and deeper trust. So, how do I try to keep God first every day? It starts the moment I wake up. Before checking my phone or diving into my to-do list, I spend time in prayer and reading scripture. This anchors my day in His truth and guidance. Throughout the day, whether facing a difficult decision at work or a personal challenge, I consciously pause and ask myself, "What would God have me do here?" It’s amazing how much clarity and peace this simple question can bring. This journey also requires discipline. Just like any important relationship, my connection with God needs consistent effort. This means setting aside time for spiritual growth, even when I'm tired or busy. It involves choosing to respond with love and forgiveness, even when it's hard. And it means actively seeking out community with other believers who can encourage and uplift me. It's not always easy, but the peace, guidance, and unwavering strength I’ve found by making God my priority are truly invaluable. It reminds me that to always have faith is to live a life far richer than I could ever imagine on my own.
