Today we had @hibachipapinc for dinner & Big Daddy went with the Lamb Chop Alfredo and he was impressed the lamb chops were juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. The pasta paired well, though for me personally it could’ve used a touch more salt (but that’s just how I feel about pasta in general 🫠).
I ordered the Salmon & Shrimp Hibachi. The salmon was tender and seasoned nicely. The shrimp had good flavor too, but I wasn’t a fan of the tails still being on made me use my hands which I hate and they were a little overcooked.
Now let’s talk about the hibachi rice… definitely the star of the show for me. Perfectly cooked, flavorful, and something I’d go back for on its own.
Overall we give Hibachi Papi an 8/10. A few tweaks here and there, but overall a solid spot worth checking out.

If you're a fan of hibachi dining, Hibachi Papi offers some delicious options that are worth trying out. Many diners rave about the Lamb Chop Alfredo for its juicy, flavorful lamb chops cooked to perfection—a highlight that really stands out. Pairing this with the creamy Alfredo sauce and pasta creates a hearty meal, though some may find the pasta could benefit from a slight seasoning boost. Seafood lovers will enjoy the Salmon & Shrimp Hibachi dish, which features well-seasoned salmon and flavorful shrimp. However, it's good to note that some customers dislike having to handle shrimp tails while eating, as it can detract from the dining experience. Also, cooking shrimp just right is key to avoid overcooking, which this restaurant could improve on. The hibachi rice here is truly a showstopper. Expertly cooked with balanced seasoning, it often receives praise and is a must-try if you visit. Many customers say it’s so good that they would willingly order it as a standalone dish. Overall, Hibachi Papi earns a solid 8/10 from local foodies. While a few tweaks like better shrimp prep and slightly saltier pasta could enhance the meal further, the restaurant shines with its quality ingredients and flavors. It's a noteworthy dining spot in Charlotte’s food scene, especially if you enjoy Asian hibachi-style cuisine.
