How do you feel about workplace violence⁉️🤔

It’s time for the conversation

Nurses and other healthcare workers go to work and choose this profession to help people get better and save lives. During the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses were called heroes. However, right after the pandemic, I’ve heard people who would say nurses and other healthcare workers signed up for this‼️

How does someone sign up to be subjected to being assaulted with zero ways of protecting themselves? Police officers get assaulted all the time however, they receive training are armed, and can protect themselves if things get out of control and they are about to get killed.

On the other hand, hospitals refuse to provide a safe place not only for healthcare workers but also for patients while getting care.

When we call for help, it takes so long for security to show up, and when they do they just stand there and not touching the violent patient. Meaning they’re not trained to help nor do the hospital administrators want them to touch violent patients.

As a nurse, I’m very passionate about my patients and hate seeing them in positions where their mental health is taking over them and are at a point of getting out of control. I don’t blame them for suffering from mental health. It is not their fault but hospital administrators should intervene to not only protect healthcare workers but also vulnerable patients and their families at the hospitals.

The last two weeks have been very hard for all healthcare workers and we starting to realize that no changes are coming anytime soon now it’s up to us to decide to stand together as a unit to help bring changes.

**Some people share that nurses and staff should start wearing cameras, some say violent patients should get charged. Some people say metal detectors are the answer and some say security on each floor would help.

We are here to help and save lives and want to see patients get better and get the help they need.

Please share your thoughts 💭

let’s stand together so we can continue doing our job and save lives!!

The recent incidents, such as the nurse assault in Florida, highlight the urgent need for reforms. Safety measures including metal detectors at entrances and security personnel on every floor have been advocated to protect both healthcare workers and patients. The conversation also extends to the use of body cameras by nurses to document incidents, providing accountability and deterring violence. The issue isn't solely about individual safety; it reflects systemic failures in how hospitals address security and support for vulnerable populations suffering from mental health challenges. Addressing these concerns requires collective action from healthcare professionals, administrators, and legislators to ensure a safe environment for patient care. Let’s discuss how we can implement these necessary changes and foster a culture of safety and respect in healthcare settings.

I have seen it both ways.I was ACN, a, and yes, they. The men would be abusive towards the women, and we just had to put up with it.I was not okay with that . Also, they said that it was normal to neglect. I was not okay with that either. Now I am paralyzed three years after being paralyzed by Corrupt police In wyoming I am so afraid to go into a care facility Because of abuse and neglect, but I.Depend on help. Plus i'm not old enough to live in a nursing home because i'm only in my forties. I have seen all spectrums. And it's an unfortunate set of events when someone who truly cares is getting crapped upon. And all that's left are people who don't care. No health care worker deserves to be mistreated Unless they are truly mistreating. No patient deserves to be mistreated. I have been poisoned at a bar I passed out and was taken by the ambulance to the e.R where they strapped me to a table had Eight people hold me down I kept telling them.I just had one drink and they shoved Narcan up my nose so hard.It made me bread 3 of them as I was awake telling them no. It was a horrifying experience. And come to find out there was no thing in my system that deserved narkan three of them nor strapping me down to a table ra_ing me with a catheter ovr n ovr breaking my ankle etc trauma but yes I feel for the good care providers and good cops were loosing them so fast it sux .

These tips used consistently will curb tantrum violence once and for all! Without using violence yourself or being passive. This works for babies up to older toddlers. Kids older than 3-4 should not be hitting. If so, have their behavior examined by a professional. #lemon8parenting @Le

How does everyone feel about workplace violence
I have seen many people say that nurses signed up for this, but this is not true. Nobody signs up for getting assaulted at work. Nobody goes into work expecting to be assaulted that goes the same for nurses. We did sign up to take care of the vulnerable but not be a punching bag. It doesn’t matter

Surviving Domestic Violence🖤
I know there are many women out here who are suffering in silence like I was in 2021. I was with a man for 3.5 years, never really paid the signs any attention, until the last 4 months of our relationship, when the physical abuse began. Prior to April 2021 (first time he hit me), there was a
