Onyx Storm
Can you believe it? After what felt like an eternity, my copy of Onyx Storm finally landed on my doorstep! Like so many of you, I’ve been waiting since yesterday for this moment, practically counting down the minutes since it published yesterday. It's only one day late, which honestly feels like a win given the buzz around this release! I'm super excited to crack open the pages of this highly anticipated sequel to *Fourth Wing*. For anyone new to the hype train, Onyx Storm is the next installment in Rebecca Yarros’s incredible Empyrean series, following the phenomenon that was *Fourth Wing*. If you haven't dived into this world yet, you're in for a treat! Imagine a brutal war college where cadets bond with dragons – some to fight, some to die. It's packed with high stakes, complex characters, breathtaking action, and a slow-burn romance that keeps you utterly hooked. The world-building is immersive, and the dragon bonds are truly something special. The first book, *Fourth Wing*, completely took the reading world by storm. It introduced us to Violet Sorrengail, who was forced to join the dangerous Riders Quadrant despite her physical frailty. Watching her overcome impossible odds, forge incredible friendships, and develop an undeniable connection with Xaden Riorson was just *everything*. And the dragons? Tairn and Sgaeyl are iconic! The ending left us all on a massive cliffhanger, desperate for answers and more of this captivating story. That’s why the arrival of Onyx Storm feels like such a monumental event for the book community. We’re all dying to know what happens next with Violet, Xaden, and the fate of Navarre and Basgiath War College. Will Violet continue to defy expectations? What new challenges will she face? How will her relationships evolve under even greater pressure? I’m particularly excited to see how the political intrigue unfolds and what new secrets will be revealed about the history of this world. I'm planning to dive in immediately, probably ignoring all my responsibilities for a bit! I've been seeing glimpses of "HERE WE GO!" and "WHAT THIS IS" all over booktok, and now I finally get to experience it for myself. I love how these books manage to combine epic fantasy battles with deep emotional journeys. If you're a fan of intricate magic systems, powerful female protagonists, and dragons who are characters in their own right, then you absolutely need to pick up this series. I can't wait to share my full spoiler-free thoughts once I've had a chance to read it. What are you most excited for in Onyx Storm?
