What I wore to a day trip in Philly
Fun fact: I lived in Philly for almost 3 years and it’s still my favorite places to go. I was my healthiest physically, spiritually, & mentally and had the best community of people. It’s my favorite city to visit!! While I lived there I grew close to a family that I now consider my own blood. I spent the day last weekend with my “little sister”.
We visited a rooftop park where we had a picnic & made friendship bracelets, then we went to maison bakery where we got matcha and a cheesecake to share. After that we traveled to the art museum where we got stuck in the rain after one picture. We planned to shopping but didn’t want to stay out in the rain. We ended up going back to the house and having dinner with the fam till I headed home. The best day🤍

I absolutely loved sharing my recent day trip to Philly with you all! It seriously warmed my heart to revisit my favorite city and spend time with my 'little sister.' After getting so many questions about my outfit and what else to do there, I wanted to dive a bit deeper and share some more tips for making the most of your own Philadelphia adventure, especially when it comes to dressing the part! First off, let's talk about what to wear in Philadelphia, especially for a spring day trip. Philly weather can be a bit unpredictable, so layering is key! That's why my trusty light blue denim jacket was absolutely perfect. It's not too heavy for walking around, but it provides just enough warmth for cooler mornings or breezy spots, like that rooftop park we visited. Plus, it's super versatile and elevates a casual look. Pairing it with comfortable jeans (mine were from Target, can't beat their fit!) and some comfy sneakers or walking shoes is my go-to Philly outfit formula. You'll be doing a lot of walking, from strolling down historic streets to exploring museums or just navigating the busy city sidewalks, so comfort is non-negotiable! My purse from Amazon was also great – hands-free and stylish. For city travel outfits, I always recommend pieces you can mix and match, and that transition easily from day to evening, or from a casual stroll to a cozy café. A light jacket outfit is a must-have for this reason. Think about pieces that pack well and don't wrinkle easily. During spring, you might even want to pack a light scarf in your bag – it’s a small addition that can make a big difference if the temperature drops or if you want to add a pop of color to your basic ootd. Beyond our little picnic and Maison Bakery stop, Philly offers so many amazing things to do and activities! If you're looking for nearby things to do, definitely check out the Reading Terminal Market for an incredible food experience – it's perfect for lunch or just grabbing some local treats. For more art lovers, besides the Art Museum (where we got stuck in the rain!), the Rodin Museum and Barnes Foundation are incredible and often less crowded. If you're into history, a walk through Old City to see Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell is a must. And honestly, just exploring different neighborhoods like Fishtown or Rittenhouse Square can be an activity in itself, full of charming boutiques and cafes. Speaking of boutiques, if you're curious about clothing stores in Philadelphia to find your own unique pieces, Philly has a fantastic thrifting scene! That's how I found my thrifted jean jacket. Places like South Street or vintage shops in Fishtown are treasure troves. For more mainstream options, the shops around Rittenhouse Square offer a great selection, and of course, big retailers like Target are always reliable for those comfy basics like my jeans. Don't forget to keep an eye out for local artisan markets too – they're perfect for finding unique accessories or souvenirs. Remember to save for later these tips for your next Philly day trip! Hope this helps you plan your own unforgettable visit!
