Even if you don't have direct legal assistant experience, highlight transferable skills like strong organizational abilities, excellent communication, research skills developed in academic projects, and proficiency with office software. And don't forget to ask thoughtful questions yourself – it shows you're genuinely interested in the role and the firm's culture. For me, asking about a typical day or opportunities for professional development helps me gauge if it's the right fit. Orlando's legal scene is vibrant and diverse, with opportunities in various practice areas, from personal injury and family law to corporate and real estate law. This means more chances for us to find a niche that truly excites us. Knowing that my networking efforts now are paving the way for these kinds of practical, entry-level experiences makes my journey as a law student even more exciting.
