Ichetucknee Springs FL

Hello lovelies!!!!! Just wanted to share this amazing experience I had at Ichetucknee springs with my amazing friends 💓🐛

Location 📍:Ichetucknee Springs State Park Iocated in Suwannee County, Florida

🌞 Day 1: we arrived to the campsite at about 3pm (that’s typical check in time) we set up the campsite and met with the cutest animals! They have a bunch of animals the owners of the campsite rescue! Including cows, pigs, donkeys, goats, chickens, cats, dogs and way more!! They typically will roam the sites so don’t be alarmed if a cute piggie comes to visit you 🥰 we went for a swim but since it started getting dark it was coldddd!!! 🥶 we had a longggg night of drinking partying and games and decided to go night swimming. (Illegal don’t do it) stupid idea but definitely an experience you don’t see often and was very exciting!!!

🌞 Day 2: paddle board day!!!!!! We went to enjoy the views of the springs all day after breakfast! We inflated our paddle board and spend the whole day on the river. It was amazing. Swimming with manatees and seeing the beautiful water is definitely worth the trip to this spring. We even saw some gators 🐊 we ended the day with more swimming and another night of drinking, partying and games 🥰

🌞 Day 3: last day!!! After 2 days of swimming and drinking we were pretty pooped. I must say 3 days is the Perfect amount of time to be here because you can only pee in the woods and drink so much alcohol for so long. We captured in the amazing beauty on our final hike. Swam at the last spring we didn’t see and ate so much food at the restaurant they have available there. Packing up is the absolute worst when camping but the trip makes it alllllll worth it especially with a group of fun friends!!!

I’ve been to many springs here in Florida. I have to give this a 3 star ONLY because of a couple of things:

The spring is actually about 2 miles away from the campsite so you have to take a vehicle to get there or you’ll be dying carrying all your belongings on a road where the speed limit is 55mph.

The springs were actually closed off from the actual river, so you couldn’t take your paddle board to the swimming areas to swim you’d just have to jump off and swim. I’m not sure why they did this but if you’ve been to ginnie springs in Florida then you know how convenient and fun it is to ride the river to different springs.

The campsites are soooooooo close together that you can pretty much see more campers than actual woods. Camping is usually a peaceful thing where you feel more isolated and away from others. At least for me. But socializing isn’t a horrible thing and you meet fun and cool people :)

All in all I loved my experience here and will absolutely be visiting again!!!!! Will you take a trip here? Have you been here before?? Tell me about it!!!
