I wasn’t always someone’s mom…
Before becoming a parent, I often thought about how drastically life would change—and let me tell you, the reality is both challenging and rewarding in ways I never expected. I used to be a bit of a 'menace to society,' always up for spontaneous plans and living for the moment. Those carefree days seemed like they would last forever, but then motherhood came knocking, and everything shifted. Adjusting to life as a mom required me to rethink my priorities. Suddenly, sleep schedules and meal times mattered more than late-night hangouts. My definition of fun transformed from wild adventures to park outings and storytime memories. Yet, the chaos of parenthood is balanced by moments of pure joy—like the first smile or hearing “I love you” from tiny lips. Embracing the unpredictable nature of parenting also taught me patience and resilience. There were days I felt overwhelmed, questioning how I got here from my wild past, but those are part of the journey. Sharing these experiences with other parents helps me realize I'm not alone in this transformation. To anyone who remembers their life before kids and feels nostalgic or daunted, remember: it's okay to reminisce about that 'menace' era, but cherish the growth and new love parenthood brings. Becoming a mom isn't about losing yourself—it's about becoming a new version of yourself, enriched by tiny hands and big hearts.
