No need to look for a hotel with all the amenities when your walking 15k to 20k steps a day!!!
Personally I think one of the best ways to save money is by finding hotels that
1. Close to the metro - walking or taking public transit over ubering all day
2. Don’t book hotels that have extra things that you pay for but probably don’t use
3. Mapping out your trip - not everything is found in the city or the area you might think so plan what you wanna see so you know which area is actually worth staying in
4. Using a credit card or rewards platform like @Rakuten - this is a great way to get cash back
Not a hotel hack but also enjoy your trip if you love lifting weights do it!
Or if you just love lifting food to your mouth do it!!!

When traveling solo, especially as a female explorer, the hotel you stay in can significantly impact both your budget and overall experience. From my own travels, I’ve found that prioritizing location over luxury amenities can be a game-changer, particularly if you’re someone who stays active by walking 15,000 to 20,000 steps daily. Staying close to a metro or reliable public transit saves you money and stress, letting you explore more without the constant hassle or expense of rideshares. Another tip is to avoid booking hotels that charge extra for amenities you won’t use. For example, some properties might advertise gyms or pools, but if your idea of fitness outdoors is walking through vibrant city streets or finding the best local eateries nearby, those extras don’t add value and only inflate your costs. Instead, focus on hotels near great food spots since indulging in local cuisine is one of the best parts of any trip. I personally prefer scouting hotels with top-rated nearby restaurants, which makes every meal an adventure. Before booking, spend some time mapping out the places you want to visit. Sometimes attractions aren't clustered where you expect, so choosing accommodation based on your itinerary helps avoid long, exhausting commutes. This planning ensures you get the most from your trip and can rest well at night without extra travel time. Lastly, don’t underestimate the power of using a rewards platform like Rakuten or a travel credit card that offers cashback. These small savings can add up quickly, helping you stretch your budget further or upgrade other aspects of your travel experience. Remember, travel is about enjoyment—whether you love lifting weights or simply lifting delicious food to your mouth, do what makes you happy on your journey. Walking a lot daily means you don’t need a hotel gym to stay fit; instead, immerse yourself in local culture and savor every step and bite along the way.
