✈️ There is honestly no better feeling than realizing you’re actually your own best travel partner.
I started doing this because the world felt too big to stay in one place my whole life and I wanted to encourage other women to see and travel the world!
There is a specific kind of clarity you get when you’re standing in a desert or driving through mountains alone, you realize how small your worries actually are.
People act like solo travel is all sunsets and aesthetic coffee shops, but It’s about figuring out how to catch that bus, navigating a map in a foreign city, and sitting with your own thoughts without distractions.
I started “Exploring with Lexi” to share those moments too, the ones that aren’t perfect but make you feel most alive and how to embrace being uncomfortable
still nervous about traveling solo trust me I get it. But starting with a group trip is great to!

Traveling solo has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. When I first started, the idea of navigating a foreign city alone was intimidating. However, embracing the uncomfortable moments—getting lost, eating meals by myself, or facing unexpected changes in plans—helped me grow in ways I never imagined. One of the key lessons I’ve learned is the importance of accepting unpredictability. Whether it’s a delayed bus or a shift in weather, solo travel teaches flexibility and resilience. I always start with a rough itinerary, but I stay open to changes. This freedom to adapt can lead to the most memorable experiences. There’s also a profound clarity that comes from being alone in nature—whether standing in the desert or driving through mountains. These moments strip away daily worries and help you see how small your concerns truly are. They also offer a rare chance to connect deeply with yourself without any distractions. Another aspect people often overlook is the practical skills solo travel develops. From figuring out public transportation and reading maps to budgeting and safety awareness, these abilities build confidence that extends beyond travel. For those nervous about starting solo, joining a group trip can be a great introduction. It provides social support while still giving a taste of independence. Ultimately, solo travel is not just about the destinations but about discovering how capable and resourceful you really are. Sharing these imperfect yet enriching moments inspired me to create “Exploring with Lexi” to encourage more women to take the leap and explore the world on their own terms.
