Honeymooning In Africa
Part 1
Honeymoon in Tanzania, Africa🔥
We saw beautiful creatures at a scale you would not witness at a zoo. From being told to hush in the jeep because there was a territorial elephant bull right beside us to hearing a wildebeest scream in blood curling terror as it took the last gasps of life at two in the morning while we were in our tent- our honeymoon was a grand adventure…
I have a newfound appreciation for African art. Its sculptures are no longer stagnant wooden figures to me but a moment frozen in time. Their use of red and brown colors are a token of how raw their flavor of history, is.
I was fully present.
We met the oldest tribe in the world, the Maasai. They encouraged us to take videos, pictures and to ask questions about their culture. They were very excited when I told them I’m making a video of our time in Africa and they performed a welcome dance and song for us. I am so thankful.
“All of humanity started in Tanzania making it the perfect place to start our marriage,” I’m paraphrasing, what Nick said.
He was right.

I made this video to a song* that perfectly captures how I felt in Africa- in wonder. Some shots we took from the hot air balloon, in case you were wondering how we got those Birds Eye view takes. Some shots are a little blurry, these were all taken through our iPhones and is a video not meant for a big screen. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy it. I did love editing and putting this video together. 🩷

Our African honeymoon in Tanzania was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, far exceeding anything we could have imagined. Beyond the incredible wildlife encounters and cultural connections we shared, the journey of planning and experiencing it taught me so much. If you're dreaming of an African honeymoon, especially in a place as magical as Tanzania, here are some insights I wish I had known, shared from our personal adventure! Choosing Tanzania for our honeymoon was the best decision. It's not just about the iconic Serengeti or the Ngorongoro Crater, which are absolutely breathtaking for game viewing, but also the incredible diversity. One day you're tracking lions and elephants, the next you're immersed in the rich traditions of the Maasai people. We found their openness and excitement to share their culture incredibly moving. It truly made us feel like we were part of something much bigger, a feeling you just don't get anywhere else. For anyone considering this romantic adventure, I highly recommend a 'safari and beach' combo. After the exhilarating and sometimes dusty days of game drives, imagine unwinding on the pristine, white sands of Zanzibar. It’s a short flight from the mainland and offers the perfect contrast of relaxation after adventure. We loved reminiscing about our safari over fresh seafood by the ocean – pure bliss! Practical Tips from Our Trip: Best Time to Go: We went during what's considered the dry season, which meant incredible wildlife viewing as animals gathered around water sources. However, friends have told me the 'green season' offers lush landscapes and fewer tourists, which sounds amazing for photography and a more intimate experience. Packing Essentials: Think lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors (khakis, greens, browns) for game drives. Layers are key, as mornings can be chilly and afternoons quite warm. Don't forget a wide-brimmed hat, good sunglasses, and plenty of high-SPF sunscreen. A comfortable pair of walking shoes is a must, especially if you plan any village visits or walking safaris. And trust me, a good pair of binoculars will let you get up close with distant wildlife without disturbing them! Camera Gear: While we captured amazing moments on our iPhones, if you're serious about wildlife photography, a camera with a decent zoom lens is invaluable. There are so many incredible photo opportunities, from a lion basking in the sun to a flock of vibrant birds. Choosing Your Operator: We found that working with a reputable safari operator specializing in honeymoons made all the difference. They handled all the logistics, from transfers to camp bookings, allowing us to simply relax and enjoy every moment without stress. Communicate your desires – whether it's a hot air balloon ride at sunrise or a private dinner in the bush, they can often make it happen! An African honeymoon is more than just a trip; it's an immersive experience that challenges you, connects you with nature, and brings you closer as a couple. It’s about creating shared memories that will last a lifetime, far beyond any material gift. I truly believe our Tanzanian adventure strengthened our bond in ways we never imagined. If you're seeking a honeymoon that's truly extraordinary and filled with wonder, a safari in Africa might just be your perfect beginning!
