CONTENT CAMP: Posting 63 times a week! 🫧

I’m SO HAPPY that I committed to this!

Posting 63 times in a week might sound crazy, but it’s completely possible. And it brought JOY back into posting! It brought CREATING and discovering!

Throughout this week, I learned that there is no difference between a video that gets 200 views and a video that gets 200,000 views. Why is that!?? Because on every platform, I posted the SAME content, and my views were all over the place! My best performing piece of content on YouTube was my worst performing piece of content on Instagram… when you consider all of this, why not just keep cranking content out!? It’s like a game, and nothing happens if you lose! But if you win, you win BIG!!! 💖💖💖💖

I learned and observed so much in this week but the biggest takeaway is that omg, social media is so much fun. It should really be called Creative Cyberspace. It’s a place where you can put what’s in your mind and your heart into media and it will instantly have the chance to be in the literal HANDS 📲 of strangers across the world who might see glimpses of their hearts and minds in what you created too. It’s honestly EPIC!!!

Week 1 was fun, and I’m really surprised honestly that I didn’t lose any followers — because I suddenly was appearing probably a LOT more than anyone wanted or expected 😂👋 haaayyy

Creatively this also pushed me way out of my comfort zone. Like who even am I posting this graphic carousel!??! 😂😂😂 but I love that! Always so much to learn! I’m not going to limit myself by saying I’m a short form video creator. I’m a short form expert yeah but first and foremost I’m a child of God and an icon so I can do ALL things through Christ hello ‼️

But, despite having several viral posts this week, I didn’t really gain many followers either. 🤔 This means the videos that went viral didn’t leave the right impression. It’s easy to get views. It’s difficult to build community! But it’s possible, I’ve done it, and I’ll do it again 💃🏼

Some context ➡️ I have been a FULL TIME content creator since 2021. It’s literally been my only source of income for 4 years. I should know how this stuff works, right!?! But the algorithms and platforms are constantly changing, and I am NOT going to slip into irrelevance!!!! I wanted to challenge myself to do something wild, artistic, meaningful, and something that would help me learn and grow!!! I love it online 🤩 I want to understand it more and more!!!

Specifically though I will say this — I was shocked at my reels views. They didn’t go down at all when I went from posting 1X/day to 3X/day, BUT there’s a delay. The views didn’t always come in the first 24 hours. You just have to be patient! I have a reel going viral right now that I posted 3 weeks ago! It was at 10,000 views after the first WEEK and now it’s over 500,000! That’s the game!

And once you realize you really just have no idea how something’s going to perform, you stop caring. It’s so freeing! Having a posting goal like posting X amount of times per day took ANY pressure off that I had put on myself of having my content perform any kind of way. I just needed to keep going!!!

I also noticed I wasn’t gaining many followers from that video when it started to go viral, so I PINNED a comment saying I post a lot of content like that; and then the followers started to come in! Let me know if you’re from that pinned comment actually!! 🫶

First off, managing that much content truly felt like a posting breakdown at times, but it forced me to get super organized. My biggest tip for anyone thinking of upping their posting frequency is batching content. I dedicated specific days to filming all my short-form videos, then other days to editing. For carousels or static posts, I'd brainstorm a week's worth of ideas at once, create all the graphics, and then write all the captions. This wasn't about spending more hours, but about making those hours more efficient. It really helped me overcome that mental block for creativity because I wasn't constantly starting from scratch. Instead, I was flowing through tasks. Another question I get a lot is about adapting content for different platforms. In my main post, I mentioned posting the 'same' content, but let's be real, 'same' rarely means identical! While the core message or video might be similar, I always tweaked intros, outros, and captions to fit each platform's vibe. For example, a quick, trending sound on TikTok might become a more detailed voiceover explanation on YouTube Shorts. On Lemon8, I’d focus on visually appealing graphics and longer, more reflective captions. This slight adaptation is key. Don't just cross-post blindly; give each platform a little love tailored to its audience. And what about those Instagram and TikTok analytics? Initially, I was just looking at views, but then I started digging deeper. I paid attention to watch time, completion rates, and where people were dropping off. This helped me refine future content. But honestly, the biggest game-changer for building community wasn't just the numbers. It was actively engaging with comments and, as I mentioned, that pinned comment strategy. When a video started picking up steam, I'd pin a comment saying something like, 'If you loved this, you'll find more content like it on my profile!' or 'What other content creation tips do you want to see?' This simple move dramatically increased my follower conversion rate from viral views. It showed people I was accessible and ready to engage. Finally, let's talk about the mindset. High-volume posting can definitely lead to burnout if you're not careful. For me, setting posting goals wasn't just about hitting a number; it was about releasing the pressure of perfection. Once I decided I had to post X times, the focus shifted from 'Is this perfect?' to 'Is this good enough to share and add value?' This mental shift was incredibly freeing. I also made sure to schedule in actual rest days and 'idea days' where I wasn't creating, just consuming and brainstorming. Remember, your well-being fuels your creativity. It's a marathon, not a sprint, even when you're posting like it's a sprint for a week! Hope these extra tips help you on your content journey!
