🔥 P.S. 1: Read here and maybe wonder why I studied so many things. I have to say that the course will not be 100% secure. It will be like Com Sci 70% - Cybersec 30%. But for me, I think that if I really want to go to this line, I should know these basic aspects. Anyone starting from 0 is recommended here. ✅

ถ้าเสิร์ชคำว่า “BU cybersecurity” แล้วกำลังลังเลว่าเรียนจริงๆ เป็นยังไง ขอเล่ามุมที่คนชอบถามกันบ่อยๆ แบบอ่านแล้วน่าจะนึกภาพออกมากขึ้นนะ อย่างแรก หลักสูตร Cybersecurity ที่ BU (ป.ตรี) ฟีลจะไม่ได้เป็น “แฮกอย่างเดียว” ทั้ง 4 ปี แต่จะเป็นฐานคอมพ์ที่ค่อนข้างแน่น แล้วค่อยเอา security มาครอบอีกที ข้อดีคือคนที่เริ่มจากศูนย์จะตามได้ เพราะเริ่มปูพื้นตั้งแต่การเขียนโปรแกรม, OOP, data structure ไปจนถึง network/operating system พวกนี้สำคัญมากเวลาไปทำงานจริง เช่น ถ้าอยากเป็น pentester แต่ไม่เข้าใจ network layer หรือระบบปฏิบัติการ เวลาทำโจทย์จะตันง่ายมาก เรื่องที่หลายคนอยากรู้คือ “มีแลป/CTF ไหม” จากที่เจอมา จุดเด่นคือมี lab ให้ลงมือทำเยอะ และอาจารย์จะหากิจกรรมแนว CTF/โจทย์ฝึกคิดมาให้เรื่อยๆ ซึ่งช่วยให้เราไม่เรียนแบบท่องจำ แต่ได้ฝึกวิธีคิดแบบคนทำ security เช่น การไล่หาช่องโหว่ การอ่าน log การมอง threat model เบื้องต้น แนะนำว่าถ้าจะสนุกกับส่วนนี้ ให้เตรียมตัวด้วยการฝึกพื้นฐาน Linux command, networking ง่ายๆ และลองเล่นเว็บฝึกอย่าง TryHackMe/Hack The Box (ทำเฉพาะห้องที่ถูกกฎหมาย) จะช่วยให้ตามในห้องไวขึ้น อีกคำถามคือ “ต้องเก่งคณิตไหม” โดยรวมมี calculus/คณิตที่เกี่ยวกับสายคอมอยู่บ้าง โดยเฉพาะถ้าจะต่อยอดไป AI/ML หรือ data mining แต่สำหรับสาย security ทั่วไป ไม่ได้ใช้หนักแบบวิศวะจ๋าๆ สิ่งที่ใช้บ่อยกว่าคือ logic, การแก้ปัญหา, และความขยันแกะโจทย์ เรื่อง “โปรเจกต์” ถ้าเป็นคนชอบทำของ จะได้ประโยชน์มาก เพราะหลายวิชามีงานโปรเจกต์ ทำให้พอร์ตโตไว แนะนำให้เก็บงานเป็นระเบียบตั้งแต่ปี 1 เช่น ทำ GitHub, เขียน README สั้นๆ ว่าโปรเจกต์ทำอะไร ใช้เครื่องมืออะไร และเราได้เรียนรู้อะไร เวลาไปสมัครฝึกงาน/งานจริงจะช่วยมาก สุดท้าย “จบแล้วทำงานอะไรได้” นอกจากสายตรงอย่าง SOC, pentester, cybersec consultant แล้ว คนจำนวนไม่น้อยจะไปต่อสาย dev, DevOps, cloud หรือ data เพราะพื้นฐานที่เรียนมาค่อนข้างกว้าง ถ้าอยากชัวร์ว่าไปสายไหน ลองตั้งเป้าระหว่างเรียน เช่น อยากไป SOC ก็ฝึกอ่าน log/พื้นฐาน SIEM, ถ้าอยากไป pentest ก็ฝึก web security (OWASP Top 10), ถ้าอยากไป cloud security ก็เริ่มจากพื้นฐาน AWS/Azure และแนวคิด IAM ถ้ากำลังเลือกอยู่ แนะนำให้ถามตัวเอง 2 อย่าง: ชอบลงมือทำแลป/แก้โจทย์ไหม และโอเคกับการเรียนพื้นฐานคอมหลายด้านก่อนค่อย specialize ไหม ถ้าโอเค หลักสูตร BU cybersecurity จะตอบโจทย์คนอยากเริ่มจาก 0 และอยากมีทั้งพื้นฐาน + ประสบการณ์ทำโปรเจกต์/แลปไปพร้อมกัน
