The temperature settings and drying instructions, such as 'tumble dry low' or 'do not bleach', further guide proper cleaning methods to avoid damage. For instance, common symbols like a tub with water represent machine washing, while a line with dots indicates the maximum temperature. Ironing symbols specify whether ironing is permissible, with one dot for low heat and three dots for high heat. Understanding these symbols not only prevents unintentional damage but also keeps fabrics vibrant and fresh.
