How to cut cheese for a charcuterie board

This is a helpful guide for how to get started with your next charcuterie board.

1) hard cheeses with a rubbed edge: each piece needs some of that flavor. Slice it all the way down and stack it on your board or lay it flat to make a long train.

2) the wedge: slice a flatter wedge and display it with the narrow end pointing in, alternating the direction all of the way down.

3) triangle mountain range: slice triangular shapes shaped cheese and stack in an offset pattern.

4) rectangular wedge: cut into small rectangular blocks and pile up to add some height.

5) Gouda squares: remove the red rind and set aside. Cut the Gouda into cheese and pile it up in the rind.

6) cut square blocks into cut, chop into pieces, or cut rectangular blocks and set in an offset pattern
