Find your purpose in life!

To achieve Mental Wealth, we need to start with finding our purpose.

We all need to search for a direction in life towards greater meaning. This helps us to create a personal identity, allowing us to make decisions that align with it.

To find purpose, we begin with identifying core values that we admire in others or wish to embody in ourselves. Then, we engage in energy-creating activities that can also help others.

Writing a purpose statement can help us gain clarity of our own purpose.

There you have it! A reason for you to live your life, helping you gain personal fulfilment and satisfaction from serving someone beyond yourself.

Try it for yourself! Doing this small exercise helped us to be clearer about why we created Fat FIRE With Us.

P.S.: Our target audience is young adults like ourselves, but anyone from a different age group is welcome too! Hopefully, you all have learned something new from us (and all the brilliant writers we will continue to share with you).

... Read moreFinding your purpose is a vital step toward cultivating what many now refer to as Mental Wealth, which includes emotional, psychological, and spiritual well-being. According to Sahil Bloom’s framework featured by Fat FIRE With Us, purpose acts as the bridge connecting your past, present, and future, guiding your daily actions and decisions. To truly discover your purpose, start with curiosity—ask yourself why you are drawn to certain activities or interests, and what you feel passionate about. Reflect on key moments in your life when you felt most alive or engaged, and consider the values and principles you admire in others or wish to embody yourself. Core values such as generosity, excellence, simplicity, leadership, creativity, harmony, wisdom, and community often serve as anchors in this journey. Not all skills or talents energize you, so it's important to notice what activities replenish your energy and bring satisfaction. Purpose-driven living often means serving a cause beyond yourself—consider who you want to help and what problems you want to solve. Start small by experimenting with meaningful volunteer opportunities or community engagement, allowing yourself to test the waters before making bigger commitments. Writing a purposeful statement can clarify your intentions. For example, a purpose statement may follow the template: "I want to use my [skills/qualities] to [contribution] for [people/cause] because [personal reason]." This helps align your goals and actions with your authentic self. Young adults, especially those focused on financial independence and mindful living like the Fat FIRE With Us community, can benefit immensely from this approach. However, the principles of purpose discovery apply universally across all age groups and backgrounds. Embracing your purpose promotes mental wealth, leading to greater fulfillment and satisfaction in life. Remember, your purpose is what keeps you motivated and provides meaning beyond the daily grind.
