The God Who Pursues
The same God who pursued Jonah is pursuing YOU! 🙌 What are you running from? A difficult conversation? An invitation you need to extend? A calling on your life? God doesn't pursue us to destroy us, but to RESTORE us. Stop running and start obeying! 💪 #GodPursues #Obedience #Faith
In my personal journey, understanding that God pursues us not to punish but to restore brought profound peace and motivation. Just like Jonah, who initially ran from his calling, many of us avoid challenging conversations or invitations that stretch our faith and purpose. When I faced a difficult decision about following a calling in my life, I realized that resistance often arises from fear of the unknown or discomfort with change. However, choosing to obey and trust in God's pursuit has led to unexpected growth and fulfillment. This pursuit is a loving reminder that no matter how far we run, God’s desire is to bring us back to our true purpose, healing what is broken, and strengthening our faith. Obedience doesn't mean we have no struggles; it means choosing to face them with courage and support from a community that believes. Reflecting on the message from FBC Plevna and Pastor Jason Castleberry, faith combined with commitment to obey leads to transformation. I encourage anyone feeling the weight of avoidance—to trust that God’s pursuit is gentle yet persistent. Engage with your faith community, share your struggles, and take small steps toward obedience. These steps invite restoration and open the door for God’s guidance to illuminate your path. Remember, restoration is a process, fueled by faith and sustained through obedience, inviting us into a life marked by peace and purpose rather than fear and avoidance.
