winter school ❄️ home toddler activities

Homeschooling my toddlers for a year now (ages 2 & 3 now) We do a hybrid approach of Charlotte Mason x Waldorf learning methods — why?

🌱 Mason values a quiet learning time for children — no formal academic training before age 6, time to be a child

🌈 Waldorf encourages imagination, curiosity and play — a foundation for “out of the box” thinking

🏡 Both value home and handiwork — teaching life skills proven to predict success as adults

One of THE best decisions I’ve made for our family 🩵 I could talk about this all day.

✨ follow ✨ for more toddler home learning life!

Did we just start an online co-op!??

Engaging in creative play, such as building snowmen or warming up with books and blocks, enhances their learning experience. Integrate a variety of sensory experiences, such as preparing a warm lunch like toasted cheese and tomato soup or enjoying a spot of tea while watching the snow. Consider incorporating music time into your winter school routine with activities like piano play or singing seasonal songs that reflect their natural curiosity. Nature walks, even in the snow, can spark imaginative play; encourage them to observe the snowflakes or the winter landscape around them. Simple crafts can further stimulate creativity—try making snowman cookies for a fun baking activity that fosters collaboration and enjoyment. By fostering these joyful and educational experiences, you’re creating a nurturing environment for preschool learning that resonates with the philosophies of Charlotte Mason and Waldorf education.
