Shu Uemura Foundation review!!! 🧏🏻♀️
Hey Zesties 🍋
As some of you may know, im a bridal makeup artist, and am constantly on the lookout for the best products on the market—always testing out the latest trends!
#shuuemura recently sent me two different foundation ranges (the Tsuya Serum Foundation) and the (Advanced Unlimited Foundation) — so I thought this would be the perfect time to share my honest review as a makeup artist!
🔖 Tsuya Serum Foundation
• Infused with 5% niacinamide & hyaluronic acid
• Glowy finish
• Buildable coverage
• Lightweight
— For someone who has dry/dehydrated skin like myself, i do really love this one. The fact that it gives me a really nice sheen whenever i tilt my head around, making my dull skin look so much more radiant, i think this is really a good buy! One layer of it is good enough to even out my skin tone as well.
🔖 Advanced Unlimited Foundation
• Infused with Amino acids
• Luminous Matte finish
• 24 hours long wear
• Anti-oxidant
• Medium-high coverage
— This one is not so much for dry skins, but i can imagine how well it sits on someone with combi-oily skin (especially it being one of their best sellers). I personally think this is a little too matte for my liking, but if you’re someone with dry/dehydrated skin and still fancy a higher coverage foundation that is super long wearing, you can give it a try but definitely prep and moisturise your skin well.
From my experience, prepping the skin well is key to getting the best out of these foundations. For the Tsuya Serum, I recommend using a hydrating primer to boost its natural glow and keep your skin comfortable throughout the day. It’s also great for those who prefer a natural, luminous look without heavy layers. With the Advanced Unlimited Foundation, because it has a matte finish and medium to high coverage, it's essential to moisturize properly beforehand to avoid any dry patches, especially if you have dehydrated skin like mine. This one works wonderfully if you’re looking for a foundation that stays put for long hours, ideal for weddings or events. Shu Uemura’s formulations impressed me with their infusion of skincare ingredients like niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and amino acids, which not only provide coverage but also support skin health. For anyone considering a foundation that balances makeup with skincare benefits, these are worth trying out. Remember to match the formula to your skin type for optimal results. Also, the “unlimited” finish truly lives up to its name in terms of wear time, but if you have dry skin, don’t skip your moisturizer to avoid that overly matte look. I personally appreciate how the Tsuya Serum Foundation brightens my complexion, giving me that radiant bridal glow I strive for in my work.
