but still had high hopes for the food!!! until….. ok kidding the food was alright! here’s our ratings: (the boyfie wasn’t v satisfied with the food though 🥺)
- was alright~ but felt like it could be more gao… considering the fact that i already ordered for less ice 🥹 just tasted like any other ordinary hojicha latte…
- we heard pretty good reviews about this so was actually quite excited to try it BUTTTTTTT…… there wasn’t much flavour sadly 🥲 we could smell the truffle but we couldn’t taste it LOL and the beef was a little hard to bite through. can pass on this bah… BUT BUT personal preference ok HAHA i know a lot of people like this HAHAHAHA no hate pls

- a must-try!!! i’ve never had sour cream fried chicken before but this was good! chicken was fried perfectly, and vv juicy!!! and the sour cream seasoning makes it very addictive and appetising. i kept reaching out for more HAHAHAHA. went really well with the tomato sauce!!
all in all, probably a ⭐️⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for our first visit bah. but will definitely be back to try the hotcakes(!!!!!) and other stuffs hehehe.
... Read moreIf you’re planning a trip to Beth Cafe at Upper Thomson, here’s some extra tips based on my experience that might help you get the most out of your visit.
First, the hotcakes are the highlight of this cafe, and since they sold out early that day, I highly recommend going early if you really want to try them. They seem to be popular and might be limited in quantity every day.
Regarding the drinks, the brown sugar hojicha latte was slightly underwhelming for me. I ordered it with less ice to get a stronger tea flavor, but it still tasted quite ordinary and not very bold. If you’re a fan of hojicha lattes with a really deep roasted flavor, you might find this a bit mild.
For food, I was tempted by the truffle & beef carpaccio sandwich due to its rave reviews. Unfortunately, the truffle aroma was noticeable but didn’t translate into flavor, and the beef was a bit tough for my liking. Though this depends on personal taste, so don’t let my opinion discourage you completely!
The star for me was the sour cream fried chicken. I’d never tried sour cream seasoning on fried chicken before, and it was a delightful surprise. The chicken was juicy and perfectly fried, and the sour cream added a unique, addictive flavor that kept me reaching for more. Definitely a must-try dish if you visit.
Lastly, while the overall rating for my visit would be a modest 3 out of 5 stars, I’m keen to return to try the hotcakes and other menu items. If you’re a foodie in Singapore looking for a new cafe to explore, Beth is worth a visit especially for something different like the fried chicken, but manage expectations for other dishes.
Hope this detailed insight helps you decide on your next meal at Beth Cafe!
