have been a pretty inconsistent pilates go-er, but after my boyfie signed up a package for us here, we have been going pretty consistently (i guess MUAHAHA).
ok but this is a really cozy place, with just 1 instructor to a maximum of 2 people each time!! each lesson is really personalised to your goals, and what you want to achieve. and as there’s only 2 of you, the instructor is also able to spend more time correcting your form (etc.)!
i remember on our first lesson, i told her that i want to work on my strength this year, and since then, we have been focusing on strength training.
i’ve attended classpass classes before, but this is a really different experience for me because i always thought that i ’ve been doing the right things the right way in those group classes… until i started coming to this studio!
price may be a lil steep, but BUTTTTT!!!! it is worth it ☺️ but what i like best is the curated and personalised lessons and guides! suitable for couples or friends who enjoy working out together!!
for the pilates girlies, y’all can just sign up and try out a couple of lessons to see if this is something that you like hehehe and maybe pop by cafe gyoen after class for a good matcha HAHAHAHA
... Read moreFrom my experience, what really sets a private Pilates studio apart is the amazing level of attention you get. With only one or two clients per session, the instructor can customize exercises specifically for your body’s needs and fitness goals — whether it's improving posture, building core strength, or increasing flexibility.
The cozy ambiance, as found at studios like the one on 37 Ann Siang Road, makes workouts feel less intimidating and more welcoming. It's not just about the equipment but the environment that encourages focus and motivation.
If you’re used to larger group Pilates classes, switching to a private studio might surprise you. In group settings, it’s easy to assume you’re performing movements correctly, but personalized coaching highlights subtle mistakes and helps you prevent injuries.
It’s also nice for partners or friends wanting to workout together but still have individual goals met. Sharing the space and instructor enhances the experience and keeps both accountable.
Yes, pricing can be higher, but I’ve found it’s an investment in quality and results. Plus, after a session, grabbing a matcha at a nearby cafe like Gyoen makes for a lovely post-workout treat and social time.
So, for anyone interested in Pilates, especially if you’re looking for consistent progress and personalized attention, trying out a private studio session could be a rewarding and enjoyable choice.
