How I saved $ (Wedding Edt) The Little Things

Hi 👋🏻

Timeline: Been a month+ since our wedding ~

Wanted to share some things I managed to save on, and places to recommend ~

Custom Shoes? 🤣

For someone who doesn’t wear heels… big NO!

i managed to find a beautiful pair at taobao for $4.77! and even then people kept asking me oh my gosh is this a custom shoe? 😆

Keepsakes 🙂‍↕️

At first, i wanted to do it myself… but as you know life keeps you busy and this was literally the last thing on my mind.. i ended up purchasing from shopee! the seller was really nice and even sent me the sample before printing and i could make some changes example font etc. total damage $20!

Dulang Hantaran 🧐

Wow… i was personally shock at the prices of rental 😫 sooo… we went to PISB, johor bahru to get the tray and basket ~ shopped at Madera Causeway Point for ribbons + foam, and honestly they have quite nice fake flowers too! but i went to taobao to get fake flowers 🤭

Money Box!!! or Angpao Box 💰

i spent so much time thinking so hard what am i gonna do for this!! i felt the box that said ‘bride and groom’ was a bit outdated and not personalised at all 😫 so after so long, i stumbled upon this from shopee - a simple clear transparent box that we could slot in a photo. for us, we ended up printing our childhood photo hehe which i thought it was a cute symbol of us growing up and this is our big boy and big girl moment. when our wedding finished!! we used this as a cute display at home to put some keepsakes such as our honeymoon flight tickets, or an actual piggybank 🤣

just some simple ways to save a little! 🤏

... Read morePlanning a wedding on a tight budget can feel overwhelming, but focusing on the little things truly adds up. For example, when it comes to decorations and traditional items like the dulang hantaran (wedding trays), I was surprised by how expensive rentals were locally. Shopping for supplies separately at places like PISB in Johor Bahru and Madera Causeway Point for ribbons and floral foam helped me save substantially. Plus, I found great faux flowers on Taobao, which not only looked beautiful but were cost-effective compared to fresh flowers. Another tip I’d recommend is personalizing items that guests will notice. Instead of the usual angpao box labeled 'bride and groom,' we got a transparent box where we could slip in a childhood photo. It was simple yet meaningful, and after the wedding, it became a lovely keepsake holder for honeymoon mementos and even doubled as a piggy bank! Keepsakes don’t have to be a DIY stress-fest. I initially thought I had to craft everything myself, but ordering personally customized wedding keepsakes from Shopee was easier and surprisingly affordable. The seller was accommodating with fonts and designs, and the end product felt very personal. If you’re like me and usually avoid heels, searching on international platforms like Taobao for affordable but stylish shoes can be a game changer. The $4.77 shoes I found were comfortable, and friends thought they looked custom-made! Overall, investing time in researching specific vendors and materials, both locally and online, helped me save more than I expected. Keeping an eye out for these small budget hacks allowed us to celebrate our big day meaningfully without splurging unnecessarily.

How much to save before taking a career break
It’s a question I used to ask myself for years — because taking a break from work felt like such a luxury. I thought once I saved enough, I’d finally do it. But the truth is, even after I hit that number, I didn’t. The fear of not having a job, of falling behind, of not knowing what’s next — it

How we saved HUNDRED$ on our appliance-shopping 👛
