Cultivate Deep Friendships
Proverbs 18:24
-The Bible says that someone who has too many friends may come to ruin, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
-If you have a bunch of friends it’s probably because you’re a ‘yes man’ who is easily swayed by others.
-If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything. The more you stand on your morals and principles, the smaller your friend circle will get which is a good thing. It’s better to have one loyal friend who’s going to support you and keep it real, than a bunch of superficial friends who only tell you what you want to hear.
-It’s ok to have several distant friends but I’m talking about your inner circle. What does that look like?
-Proverbs 18:4 says, “Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook.”
-Do you have a friend like that? Someone who departs wisdom into you. Someone who will walk through the fire with you.
-Loneliness and isolation are partly due to fake friends because you know if it came down to it, they wouldn’t ride for you.
-If you don’t have a true friend already, be on purpose to find one and if you already have one maybe reach out to them and tell them you appreciate them.

Building deep friendships involves intentionality and effort. Many people find themselves surrounded by acquaintances but crave true companionship. Genuine friends are invaluable; they offer support during tough times and share meaningful experiences. Reflect on the characteristics of your inner circle and prioritize nurturing bonds with those who uplift you. Consider how you can evaluate your current friendships—do they challenge you to grow? Do they respect your values? True friends encourage authenticity and honesty, even when it’s uncomfortable. Having just one person who truly supports you can be more fulfilling than dozens of shallow relationships. If you feel isolated or lonely, reach out to existing friends or endeavor to find new ones who align with your principles. Engage actively in conversations, share life experiences, and express gratitude towards those who have made an impact in your life. Remember, deep friendships are nurtured over time through mutual respect, understanding, and shared life journeys.
