The cost of following Jesus
Something in me has been quietly saying yes before my mind can catch up and explain it. I don’t have a full picture, I don’t know where this all leads, but I can feel the alignment in my spirit, it’s unmistakable and real. There’s more humility, more obedience than control, and that feels like fruit. I’m starting to understand the cost of following Jesus more clearly. I understand this may come with being misunderstood. Being reduced to a version of me people are more comfortable dismissing. Losing approval. People may drift because light might expose things they’d rather not look at. And yet.. even knowing that, I don’t feel pulled back. I feel anchored. It feels like someone counting the cost because they already know they’re going to say yes. Jesus only asked us to witness, to tell the truth of what we’ve seen and who we’ve met. And that’s all I’m doing. I’m choosing obedience. I’m learning that calling is about offering my life without needing to fully understand the outcome. And somehow, in words that are hard to explain, that surrender feels very peaceful. Like being carried instead of striving. The cost is real, but the cost of ignoring His voice once you’ve heard it feels heavier. What I feel right now is awe. And that tells me I’m listening to the right voice.
