I can relate deeply to that relentless cycle — juggling emotional ups and downs to keep your child happy, managing daily logistics, and still trying to stay afloat financially. It’s exhausting, and sometimes no amount of caffeine can truly revive you. Despite the tiredness, the little moments of joy from seeing your kid’s face light up with their Valentine’s Day treats make every sleepless or chaotic moment worthwhile. The bittersweet reality is that while mom life rarely offers a break, the love and happiness of our children fuel us in ways nothing else can. I’ve learned the importance of allowing myself grace during these overwhelming days. It’s okay to feel drained and still love what you do. With time, moments for self-care do come, often sneaking in amidst the busy schedules. Until then, embracing the chaos and celebrating the small victories — like a kiddo delighted with Valentine’s snacks — is what sustains me. If you’re reading this and feeling similarly drained, remember you're not alone. This shared experience of mom life is tough but rewarding. I would NOT have considered myself a runner earlier this year. I've always enjoyed sprinting but long distance running was never my thing or something I was good at. But I decided to sign up for a 10 mile race in the summer to challenge myself and by surprise I slowly began to love running!!
