THIS HOMEBAKER MAKES THE BEST SOURDOUGH 🍞🥖🥐

📍meow bakes sour

this homebaker in kovan specialises in sourdough bakes, from focaccia and loaves to granola 🍞🥖 she’s been baking since 2023, and it really shows in the quality of her bakes 💯

the focaccia was a total beauty 😍 the moment we unwrapped it, my family and i literally went “WOAH” because of how pretty it looked. cherry tomatoes, rosemary and homemade pesto were dotted so nicely on the loaf, with a gorgeous golden brown colour. it tasted just as good as it looked too! the crust had a delicate crunch, while the inside was soft and airy ☁️ despite all the flavourful toppings, it wasn’t overly salty at all. my sister, who is super hard to please, even said it was the best focaccia she’s tried in sg 😆 so yes, this one is legit good!

the sourdough loaf was another feast for the eyes, with a beautiful scoring pattern on top 🍞 you can customise it with toppings like walnuts or cranberries, which add extra texture and flavour. what i really liked was that it wasn’t too tough or chewy, which is something i often face with many sourdoughs in sg. the loaf is also HUGE, so i’ll happily be having it for breakfast for the next few weeks 😊

she even makes sourdough granola, which i’ve honestly never heard of before! it’s generously mixed with dried fruits, coconut flakes and nuts 🫐🥥🥜 perfect as a crunchy snack on its own or to top your yogurt bowls 🥣

overall, her sourdough bakes are truly exceptional and can easily match, or even beat, those from artisanal bakeries 🥯 you can tell so much effort goes into each bake, with high quality ingredients and very affordable pricing. definitely worth checking out 😊

... Read moreIf you’re a fan of artisanal bread, Meow Bakes offers more than just traditional sourdough loaves. Their focaccia is vividly topped with cherry tomatoes, rosemary, and homemade pesto, creating a flavorful, visually appealing bread that’s perfect for any meal. What stood out was how the crust struck the right balance—delicately crunchy without being too hard, complemented by a soft, airy inside. I also appreciate how customizable the sourdough loaves are. You can choose toppings like walnuts or cranberries, which add extra texture and a natural sweetness that contrasts beautifully with the slight tang of the sourdough. Unlike many sourdough breads I’ve tried, these loaves aren’t overly chewy or tough, making them ideal for everyday breakfasts or sandwiches. Another unique offering from Meow Bakes is their sourdough granola. It’s generously mixed with dried fruits, coconut flakes, and nuts, offering a delightful crunch and a healthy snacking option. I personally enjoy it on my morning yogurt bowls, and it’s just as good on its own. Living near Kovan, I find these bakes a wonderful alternative to commercial bakery breads—they have that homemade feel without the high price tag. Meow Bakes’ commitment to quality ingredients shines through every bite. Whether you're a sourdough enthusiast or just looking to try something new, this home baker definitely deserves a spot on your must-try list. TIP: Try pairing their focaccia with a simple side salad or use their large sourdough loaf for hearty sandwiches. Also, don’t miss the granola—it’s a real game changer for snack lovers!
